Salina, Utah - Clarence William Holt, 90, of Salina, Utah, died 23 June, 2018, at the home of his son, Russell. He is the son of Henry Jesse and Lillis Burgess Holt, born 1 July 1927 and raised in St. George, Utah, where he attended school and worked with his father in the mining industry before enlisting in the Navy, where he served one month before World War Two ended. He worked with his older brother Jay in the grocery business driving the “Roll-a-Mart”. There he met Enid Irene Nielson in Richfield and they were married on 25 April 1947, in St. George, Utah. They raised five children and help raise several nephews and two Lamanite students. An avid horseman, he served as one of the founding members of the Salina Riding Club and he served as President numerous times. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in several capacities including Bishop. Together he and Enid served as Manti Temple Ordinance workers. Enid passed away unexpectedly on 11 December 2001. With Enid by his side before her death he was a successful local businessman, operating a meat packing plant for more than 20 years, and two family farms and a feedlot. He was his best self when he was working long, hard days. He is survived by, his children, Susan (Brad) Brinkerhoff, Bicknell; Russell (EvaLynn) Holt, Salina; Donald (Camille) Holt, Layton; Beth (Al) Belt, South Jordan; Janice (Manuel) Porras, Salina; nineteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by his two youngest brothers, Rulon, aka Bud, (Rosie) Holt, Cedar City and Jim (Kathy) Holt, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, ten siblings, and his sweet wife. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in the Salina Creek LDS Ward Chapel, 87 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legions Post #36 will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
