Bill Jones, Jr.

Aurora, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, William Henry “Bill” Jones, Jr. age 82, of Aurora, died August 7, 2007 in Gunnison, Utah of complications from lung cancer. He was born January 15, 1925 in Birmingham, Alabama, a son of William Henry Sr. and Jenny Belle Rutherford Jones. He attended West End High School in Birmingham. Bill joined the United States Army during World War II and made a career of the Army retiring after 20 years of service. He was a POW during the Korean Conflict. Bill married Margaret Leonora Schauer, August 10, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama. Bill and Leonora moved the Aurora 20 years ago. He is survived by his loving wife, Leonora, of Aurora; children: Christopher C. and Virginia Jones of Plano, Texas; David L. and Jan Jones of North Salt Lake City, Utah; Patrick J. and Maria Jones of Washington, D.C.; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret A. Jones and a son, John Fellows. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 in Birmingham, Alabama and burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery and Mausoleum in Birmingham, Alabama.
