Bill Olsen

June 9, 1941 — December 26, 2017

Salina, Utah - William Martin Olsen II, age 76, of Salina, died December 26, 2017 in Centerfield, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born June 9, 1941 in Los Angeles, California, a son of William Martin and Martha Elizabeth Biddleman Olsen. Bill worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a Brakeman, for 18 years in California, Nevada and southern Utah. After his retirement, he moved to Salina in 1996 and made his home there. He didn't get out much, but he was a good neighbor and friend to those that he met. Joe and Jolene Parker became close with him, and he became part of their family. He loved his cats, and his dogs, Lucky and Precious. He took in every stray cat in the neighborhood. He was a member of the LDS Church and was also a 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but really enjoyed just being out in nature. He bought a hunting license every year and never killed a deer, but surely enjoyed watching them out in the mountains in their natural habitat. Bill always said that he lived to win the lottery so he could buy a great big yacht, fill it with beautiful women and cruise the world. Another of Bill's quotes was, "This is not the end, it's just the beginning". Bill, this is NOT the end, it's just your beginning. Good luck on your journey. May God bless. Graveside services for Bill will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
