Jesse Blair Tanner Hanksville, Utah - Jesse Blair Tanner, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away January 8, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born, October 3, 1927 in Fremont, Utah, a son of Jesse H. and Rosella Morrell Tanner. He was a Veteran of World WarII, serving in the United States Navy. He married Colleen Brinkerhoff February 22, 1945 in Bicknell, Utah. They had seven children. Three died as infants. They later divorced. He married Dolores Enright in 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She died on April 24, 1990, after a long battle with cancer. He worked for Cashman Construction Company in Las Vegas, NV. selling heavy equipment and parts. Retiring about 1992. He lived in Las Vegas, NV. until 1994 when he married Gladys Francis Quilter Johnson on September 4, 1994 and moved to Hanksville, Ut. He enjoyed exploring the beautiful areas around Hanksville and other parts of Wayne County, camping, riding 4-wheelers, hunting, and collecting rocks. He loved his family as well as his newly acquired family. Blair is survived by his wife of Hanksville; four children; Robert “Bob” Blair Tanner of North Las Vegas, NV; Carla Redmond of Hanksville; Janice Adams of Las Vegas, NV; Jill Brown of Hanksville; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 7 step-children; 30 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Hilma T. Brinkerhoff of Bicknell; Colleen T. Jeffery of Fremont; Carolyn T. Reese of Boise, ID; Nedra T. Hanks of Reno, NV. He was preceded in death by three infant children; a grandson; two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be Monday January 12, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. in the Hanksville LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Hanksville Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
