Teasdale, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Robert Francis "Bob" Menefee, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Teasdale, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Bob was born September 10, 1926 in Firth, Nebraska, a son of John Robert and Frances Elanore Gilliland Menefee. He joined the Navy in August of 1944, to serve his country during World War II. After the war, he married Agnes Marie Landrus in Lincoln, Nebraska. They had 8 children and later divorced. He married Sharlene Kay Shelley, May 24, 1979 in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple December 17, 1987. Bob was an owner and operator of a dry wall business, building many home and commercial properties. He built the first LDS Church house in DesMoine, Iowa. He later sold this business and became a long haul truck driver. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as Bishop, Home Teacher, as well as many other positions. He was a member of the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 in Wayne County. Bob enjoyed fishing, gardening, bee keeping and cutting fire wood. He also owned an airplane and was an airplane pilot and he enjoyed flying. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Sharlene, of Teasdale; his children: Colleen and Stan Brimley of Mesa, Arizona; Elizabeth Menefee of Salt Lake City; Cori and Lori Menefee of Chiefland, Florida; 21 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Menefee of Sun City, Arizona and a sister-in-law, Patricia Menefee of Torrey. He was preceded in death by his parents; children: Daniel Menefee, Gary Menefee, Michael Menefee, Richard Menefee and Jean Ann Menefee; a step-daughter: Celeste Carlson; a granddaughter: Sarah Brimley; and siblings: Jerry Menefee and Colleen Bedortha. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Torrey LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and the United States Navy Honor Guard will be in the Teasdale Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
