Bob Newport

Teasdale, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Robert George "Bob" Newport, age 63, of Teasdale, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 in Salt Lake City. He was born June 16, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of William King and Geraldine Sommers Newport. Bob served his country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972. He married the love of his life, Lillian Lorraine "Lorrie" Jorgenson, April 16, 1977, in Salt Lake City. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of Teasdale; two sons: Robert and Jennifer Newport of Magna; Joseph and Ashley Newport of Riverton; 6 grandchildren: Alexis, Jacob, Tristyn, Rhiannyn, Trevor and Keagun; his mother, Geraldine Newport of West Jordan; brother and sisters: William Newport of New York; Diana Collins and Sandy Newport, both of West Valley City. He was preceded in death by his father, William K. Newport. Friends may call for viewing at the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, Monday, April 7, 2014 from 5 to 7 P.M. where military honors will be provided by the Utah Honor Guard. At his request, his remains will be cremated and burial will take place in the Teasdale Cemetery in Teasdale, Utah under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
