Loa, Utah – James Brink Potter, age 95, passed away June 3, 2022 at his home in Loa, Utah. He was born December 3, 1926 in Loa, a son of William Columbus and Mabel Brinkerhoff Potter. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1944. He married Joan Monfredi June 22, 1948 in Elko, Nevada. She preceded him in death October 3, 2015. Brink served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Brink worked as a brick mason in Sandy, Utah until he took over the family farm and moved back to Loa in 1970. There he farmed and had a dairy, but his passion was Quarter Horses. He raised and raced Quarter Horses, brood mares, stallions and quality colts. Brink was very loyal to his family, his community, his country and to God. He is survived by his children: Tina and Chris Cannon of Queen Creek, Arizona; Mike Potter of St. George; DesiRee and David Johnson of Loa; 4 grandsons: Mike, Wayne, Colby and Morgan; 7 granddaughters: Trena, Tara, Tessa, Mikelle, Amanda, Haylee and Stevi; and 21 great-grandchildren: Elise, Olivia, Celia, Kamryn, Brinklee, Gatlin, DesiRee, Maverick, Rockwell, Payton, Conner, Kyler, Mace, Burell, Koe, Brance, Wilder, Jovi, StayLee, Kash and Krew; siblings: Albert and Vivian Potter, and Mignon Cooley, all of St. George. He is preceded in death by siblings: George Potter, Bonita Taylor, Cleo Blackledge, Arla Parsons McClellan, DeWaldo Potter, Virgie Arrington, Zurrell Potter and Viola Baker. Graveside services with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard will be in the Loa Cemetery on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
