Brookes G. Boren

Glenwood, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, son, and brother, Brookes Gregory Boren, age 31, was called home to our loving Heavenly Father on August 14, 2014, while working as an independent contractor in Hollywood, Florida. He was born on September 7, 1982, a son of Gregory Gordon and Gina LuRee Whitehouse Boren in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Clearfield High School where he graduated in the class of 2000. He also attended Weber State University. He served in the U.S. Army as a chemical and biological weapons specialist. Brookes married Lacey Nicole Rankin on August 31, 2013 in Clarksville, Tennessee. They have three children: Jersey, Dayton, and Ryker. Brookes was a member of the LDS Church. He loved hunting and fishing, especially with his dad. He enjoyed sports including basketball and flag football. He loved music. He played guitar, and was an excellent singer and a song writer. He had a passion for movies and was known as a movie critic. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Lacey Nicole Boren, and children Jersey, Dayton, and Ryker Boren of Linden, Tennessee; parents Gregory and Gina Boren of Glenwood; grandparents Charles and Linda Whitehouse of Glenwood; great-grandmother Della Salazar of Salt Lake City; siblings Keith and Holly Boren of Sandy; Jadi Nicole Boren of Glenwood; Tyler Boren and Andrew Holgate of West Valley City; Dalton and Kaitlen Boren of Nephi; aunts: Kristina Boren Bowman; Teresa Tunbridge; Pam and Cory Barlow; Callie B. Boren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gordon and Corrine Boren; uncle Roland K. Boren and aunt Teri Caraway. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, in the Glenwood LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. prior to services. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
