Bruce S. Winget

August 19, 1939 — November 17, 2009

Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Bruce Spencer Winget, age 70, died peacefully at his home in Salina on November 17, 2009. He was born August 19, 1939 in Monroe, Utah, a son of Elmer DeVere and Dorothy Mae Emerson Winget. He grew up in Monroe and graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1957. He married Shanna Johnson, January 20, 1959 in Monroe, Utah. They were later divorced. Bruce was a member of the LDS Church. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. Bruce was a big tease and tough on the outside, but he had a big heart. He was very smart when it came to electronics and very computer savy. He is survived by his daughter, Re’Nee Winget of Seattle, Washington; his ex-wife, Shanna Johnson Cox of Elma, Washington; four grandchildren: Shailey Danielle Winget and Kelby Jerod Maxwell, both of Salina; Kelli Johnson and Ian Tullar, both of Seattle; four sisters: Pat Van Dam of Salt Lake City; Tanya DeAnn and Craig Morrill of Henderson, Nevada; Nikki Rae and Maylen Mickelsen of Redmond; Sandra Dee Long of Gray Eagle, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, DeVere and Dorothy Winget; a son, David DeVere Winget; two sisters: Linda “Bunni” Johnson and Peggy Brohm; and a nephew, Cody L. Mickelsen. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
