Bud Peacock

June 27, 1933 — January 5, 2010

Gunnison, Utah - Our loving father, grandfather and brother, Roldo Merz “Bud” Peacock, age 76, of Gunnison, died January 5, 2010 at his home in Gunnison. He was born June 27, 1933 in Sterling, Utah, a son of Leslie J. and Florence Merz Peacock. He attended Manti High School, Class of 1951. Bud served in the US Navy during the Korean War. On November 12, 1957, Bud married Christina Rodriquez in San Diego, California. They were later divorced. He was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going fishing, and he spent countless hours on his beautiful leatherwork, which he sold throughout the valley. Bud leaves behind a daughter, Tina Marie (Matt) Klick, and a grandson, Matthew Klick, all of San Diego, California; a sister, Afton P. Lund of Gunnison; a sister-in-law: Juanita L. Peacock of Greeley, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack L. Peacock; and two sisters: Bertie Mae Peacock and Helen L. Peacock. Grave side services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 12 Noon in the Sterling Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Utah Honor Guard and the Gunnsion American Legion Post #106 will be in the Sterling Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
