Burke L. Beutler

August 22, 1931 — November 24, 2012

Burke LaMont Beutler, age 81, was born to La Mont Arthur and Thelma Meyer Beutler on August 22, 1931 in Richfield, Utah. He passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 in Payson, Utah. An excerpt from a book his mother authored, Life Stories of the Meyer Family: “Burke was a very special child....he was not a strong child and had to receive his name and blessing in an emergency moment, when we despaired for his life. The Lord was good to us, though, and let us keep him, for this we have been eternally grateful. He has brought great joy into our lives. We have always been thankful the Lord chose us as parents for such a special spirit as Burke. He has always been a lover of music and nature, making our home and surroundings neat and a beautiful show place. He has always made the effort to live right spiritually, at all times attending church, living close to our Father in Heaven and keeping His commandments. He is receiving many blessings for his kindness towards widows and others, as he does special things to help them. We have found that having this special spirit to take care of, added purpose and meaning to our lives.” As a boy Burke attended schools in both Richfield and in Kaysville, Utah. In his youth he loved to spend time in Kaysville with his relatives on their dairy farm. He was a hard worker and loved to do things for others. He did yard work for many of his neighbors. When his father passed away, Burke made it possible for his mother to remain in her home as he took over many of the chores that his mother was no longer able to do. He is loved and appreciated by his family as well as his neighbors and many members of his Ward. As a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, he always honored his priesthood, attended his meetings, and kept the faith. When his mother passed away, Burke moved from Richfield to live with his brother Ralph. He enjoyed trips to Idaho to stay with his sister Kathleen. Burke was blessed to move in with his niece Jan Anderson and her family where he received love and care in his later years. Burke is survived by his brother and sister, Dr. Ralph K. (Shirleen) Beutler; Kathleen (John) Chidester; six nephews; and six nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to extend a special thanks for the kind care provided by Maple Creek Hospice, Mt View Hospital, and Parkway Health Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
