Carletta Meeker

Salina, Utah - Carletta Drysdale Meeker, age 83, of Salina, passed away September 3, 2016 in Gunnison. She was born April 27, 1933 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, a daughter of Carl Franklin and Roetta Sparks Drysdale. Shortly after the birth of Carletta's sister, Sue in 1934, their parents divorced. Roetta then married Clyde White. Roetta died on November 28, 1944 and the three girls went to live with Roetta's sister, Billie and her husband, Willard Estep of Kimberly, West Virginia. They raised the girls until they were grown. Carletta graduated from Montgomery High School, Class of 1951. She married James Springer in Cleveland, Ohio. They were later divorced. She married Gene Allen Meeker February 8, 1965 in Estacada, Oregon. He died November 29, 2011. Carletta served as Interim Mayor of Estacada, Oregon. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Salina. Carletta enjoyed fishing, camping, doing crafts, traveling and interacting with any and all people. She was a people person. Carletta is survived by her step-children: Glen Allen Rose of Estacada, Oregon and Marsha Kuhn of La Pine, Oregon; step-grandchildren: Jacob Rose, Jeffrey Rose; Austin Rose; McKenzie Kuhn and Mateo Kuhn; sister: Phyllis and Ed Calton of Salina; brother: John E. and Elsie Estep of Cat Spring, Texas. She is preceded in death by her son, MIchaelConley; her parents, Billie and Willard Estep; and a sister: Sue Keltner. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 6:30 P.M. in the Faith Baptist Church, 165 South 400 East in Salina, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
