Charlie Moore

Salina, Utah - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Charles “Charlie” Edward Moore, age 63, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at his home in Salina, after a very brief, but valiant battle with brain cancer. He was born February 5, 1948 in Bakersfield, California, a son of William Selmer and Geneva Murphy Moore. He graduated from Piute High School, Class of 1966. Charlie married the love of his life, Annette Jacobson, December 29, 1973 in Gunnison, Utah. He was an Elder in the LDS Church, and he served in the Sunday School Presidency, as a Primary and Sunday School Teacher, Cub Master and Scout Master. Charlie was a volunteer EMT for the Salina Ambulance Crew for 31 years and a Hunters Education Instructor for 28 years. He also was a Little League Coach and served as President of the Salina Jaycees. He loved hunting, fishing, collecting guns, watching NASCAR, visiting with people and life in general. He was the type of guy that made friends with everyone and anyone and he never met a stranger. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Annette, of Salina; children: Blaine Moore of Parowan; Corey and Nicole Moore, Holly Moore, all of Salina; his parents, William and Geneva Moore, sisters: Donna and Les Knoefler, Sandy and Rick Bretz, all of Aurora; and a sister-in-law: Susan and Jerold Lloyd of Taylorsville; 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law: Oras and Vivian Jacobson; a brother-in-law: Maynard Jacobson; two brothers and one sister: Larry Moore, Carol Moore and William Eugene Moore. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 12 Noon in the Salina 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Utah Independent Bank in Salina in the name of Charles E. Moore.
