Charlotte Hale Elliott, age 91, returned to her Heavenly Father on April 18, 2023, in Monroe, Utah after living a long, full life. Charlotte was born in Afton, Wyoming on October 6, 1931, the third child of Vasco Lester and Della Hoopes Hale. She was proud of her Star Valley heritage and loved sharing stories of growing up on the farm, school memories and long, long Wyoming winters.
After graduating from High School, Charlotte attended Utah State University, where she met the love of her life, Victor Wallace Elliott. They were married in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on March 20, 1952, for time and all eternity.
Victor’s work in the nuclear industry took them first to Eastern Washington where they were blessed with four children: Victor Lawrance, Pamela Jean, Robert Jay and Richard Lavel. They later moved to Livermore, California where they raised their young family. In retirement, they moved to West Jordan, Utah, and ultimately to St. George and Ivins, Utah. For nearly 30 retirement years, they lived every summer in their travel trailer, exploring the Western United States, making friends, and visiting family. Victor passed away September 16, 2014.
Charlotte was a life-long, dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and had a strong testimony of His gospel plan. She particularly loved attending the Temple. She served in a variety of church callings, including missionary program assignments with her dear husband. Charlotte’s hands were always busy. When she wasn’t taking care of family or making a happy home, she would be busy with quilting and various crafts for family or humanitarian projects. She kept her mind sharp by doing word search puzzles and was a voracious reader.
Charlotte is survived by her four children: Victor Lawrance (Seray) Elliott of Antioch, California; Pamela Jean (Matthew) Creamer of Richfield, Utah; Robert Jay (Sandy) Elliott of Taylorsville, Utah; and Richard Lavel (Debby) Elliott of Grand Junction, Colorado; brothers Darrel (Paula) Hale and Duane (Sally) Hale; 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild plus one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Arlene (Don) Sharp, Margene (Austin) Warren, Nedra (Doug) Alleman, and James Allen (Patricia) Hale.
Special thanks to Monroe Canyon Assisted Living and Zions Way Hospice for their loving care.
