Salina, Utah – Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend, Troy Chip Woods, age 76, returned home to our Heavenly Father, June 20, 2022, from his home in Salina. Chip was born January 23, 1946, in Salt Lake City. He’s a son of Emmett Jay and Leola Alfred Olsen Woods. He grew up in Lehi and Myton. He attended Lehi High School with the Class of 1964. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He married his forever sweetheart, the love of his life and best friend Sandra Dee Nielson, September 29, 1962, in American Fork, Utah. His loving bond with Sandra began in the 3rd grade and will continue through the eternities. Chip was best known as “Pop”. He was a rebel by nature, but kind to the core. He was as generous, kindhearted and loving a person as you would ever meet. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. He was a best friend to all and to know him was to love him. He put his family first and would always make sure they were well cared for. He also loved his dog Rugar and Sandra would always joke with him about loving the dog more then her. Chip enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved the outdoors where he rode horses, hunted and camped. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was riding his Can-Am into the desert with his son Cody, being out in nature and watching the wild horses, they had a lot of fun and created lasting memories. He owned a cabin in Wyoming he loved to visit where he was known as “The Old Man on the Mountain”. He spent many summers there with his grandkids, and it brought him great happiness. The wonderful memories we shared with Chip will stay with us in our hearts the rest of our lives. He will be truly missed by friends and family alike. Chip is survived by his wife Sandra Woods of Salina; 2 daughters: Mystie (Wes) Chatwin of Orem; Julie Steed of Orem; a son Cody Woods of Gunnison; a brother Randy (Joy) Woods of Lindon; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers: Jack Woods; Lynn Woods; Wade Woods; Marc Woods; 2 sisters: Velma Woods; Taunia Woods; 2 grandchildren: Broc Chatwin; Kaden Christen.
