Chris Hawkes

Pleasant View, Utah - Our kind and loving son, brother, uncle and friend, Chris Hawkes, age 51, passed away December 2, 2014 at his home in Pleasant View. He was born June 29, 1963 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Lloyd and Donna Jeanette Prisbrey Hawkes. He graduated from Weber High School, Class of 1981. He served an honorable mission for the LDS Church in the Rochester New York Mission. Chris retired as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, after 20 years of service. He was a member of the LDS Church. Chris was very service oriented, helping take care of his widowed mother and was always willing to pitch in on home repairs for any family member. He was a very kind, loving and generous person who love his family with all of his heart. He enjoyed playing the piano, hiking, back packing and skiing. He loved nature, gardening, fishing and enjoyed listening to good music. Chris is survived by his mother, Donna, of Pleasant View; brothers and sisters: Larry and Terry Hawkes of Brigham City; Julie and Michael Grange of Bountiful; Linda and Mark Taylor of Pleasant View; Becky and Craig Stacey of Omaha, Nebraska; Gregory and Tricia Hawkes of Clearfield; Angela and Nathan Tanner of Provo; Kimberly and Kemp Rosqvist of Pocatello, Idaho; 22 nephews; 19 nieces; and 29 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Hawkes. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 12:30 P.M. in the Pleasant View LDS Stake Center, 2975 North 1000 West, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 12:00 Noon prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Combined Veterans of Box Elder County and the Hill Air Force Base Honor Guard will be in the Brigham City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
