Chris Jensen Utley

Chris Utley Joseph, Utah - Our beloved sister and aunt, Hannah Clista “Chris” Jensen Utley, age 84, died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at her home in Joseph. She was born January 18, 1920 in Richfield, a daughter of Loral and Deborah Anderton Jensen. She married Boyd Levie “Bill” Utley, April 10, 1939 in Cedar City, Utah. Bill died August 13, 2002. Chris had lived in Joseph in the same house ever since she was married to Bill, 66 years ago. She enjoyed hunting with her family. She also enjoyed handiwork, crafts and she did a lot of woodworking. She was a terrific baker and made the best bread in the world. You could always call on Chris for food, bread or to help with loved ones and neighbors. Chris was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Relief Society. She received her own endowments in the Manti LDS Temple and she enjoyed going to the Temple with her sister-in-law, Emma. She is survived by her brother and sisters: Kenneth J. and Peggy Jensen of Granite Bay, California; Nola and Delos Julander of Monroe; Carol J. Jensen of Provo; sister-in-law: Emma Payne Jensen of Sigurd; 3 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loral and Deborah Jensen; husband, Bill Utley; son, Sherryl Boyd Utley; sister: Olive J. and Varlan Pinney; brothers: Loral Elvin “Dick” Jensen and an infant brother who died at birth. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Joseph LDS Ward in Elsinore, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
