Christian Lee Dowsett

February 9, 1970 — August 13, 2024

Joseph, Utah – Christian Lee Dowsett, age 54, passed away at his home in Joseph on August 13, 2024. He was born February 9, 1970, in Salt Lake City, a son of Kelly Charles and Susan Lorraine Bangerter Dowsett.

He grew up in West Jordan, Utah and attended schools there. He married Cindy Burness in 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union were born two handsome sons, Corbin and Jaron. They were later divorced.

He wanted to join the Navy, but trying to get in was stopped with the loss of hearing. He scored high on the tests, and the recruiting officer was disappointed when he discovered his hearing loss. He often stated at least his sons were able to live his dream of serving in the military.

Christian loved camping and hunting in the mountains. His passion for motorcycles was inspired by the time he spent with his father.

He was very intelligent and highly innovative, always looking to improve on things or methods. He was a perfectionist; he loved computers and had a deep knowledge of how they worked. He loved to game, as well.

He moved to Joseph to be with his mother in 2013.

Christian didn’t go with an orthodox religion, but he was highly spiritual, his church was in his heart.

He was a heavy equipment operator. He was very quick and efficient running a back-hoe.

Christian always wanted a dog to take camping so the dog could alert him of any animal approached the tent to counter his hearing loss. His cat, Rauch became his dog. He followed Christian everywhere he went.

Christian had a hard time expressing love verbally, but he loved his children and family so much. You knew he loved and cared for you by the things he did for you. He just couldn’t say the words “I love you."

He is survived by his mother, Susan L. Dowsett of Joseph; his sister, Holle and Matt Forster of Riverton; his two sons: Corbin Henniger and Jaron Henniger; and one grandchild; three nieces and two nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kelly Charles Dowsett; a brother, Matthew Keith Dowsett; and his grandparents: Leland H. Dowsett, Marjorie A. Dowsett, Keith I. Bangerter and Norma J. Bangerter.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 6:30 P.M. in the Lake Ridge 8th LDS Ward Chapel, 7525 West 3735 South in Magna.

Cremation services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
