Richfield, Utah - Our sweet little angel, Christine Schmidt, age 61 of Richfield, went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Richfield. She was born August 27, 1951 in Washington D.C., a daughter of Charles and Margaret Eloisa Otero Schmidt. Christine was born with Down Syndrome. She spent 30 plus years in Utah. She lived in a Bethagy group home in Richfield for about 13 years where many people in the community had the blessing and opportunity to serve and work with her. She worked with Community Careers and Support Services as well as Northstar Advocates and Services. For the last 14 years of her life Christine lived with the Clark and Jami Pearson family. Christine loved life! She had the vim, vigor and vitality of 3 people. She enjoyed being with people, teasing, dancing, singing and “going”. She loved to go anywhere and anytime. She traveled many places around the country. She enjoyed watching musicals, Mickey Mouse, Disneyland and going on short trips with her mom Jami. Christine particularly loved to sing. She knew all or parts of every song from the 40’s through the 70’s. Elvis Presley was her favorite! She knew almost every primary song and hymn in the book. She could out sing and dance anybody! She continued her energetic speed of life up until the day before she died. Christine especially loved her pens and purses. She collected pens from everyone and everywhere she went. A special thanks to all of those who willingly gave dedicated service and patience to Christine. She is survived by her sister, Karen Schmidt of Tesuque, N.M. Foster Parents and siblings, Clark and Jami Pearson, Carson and Angie Pearson of So. Jordan, Candy and Todd Allen of Farmington, Cameron and Sarah Pearson, Christian Pearson, Dustin Bonney, Dan Hansen, Ruby Velasquez and Parker Pearson all of Richfield, Shawn and Angie Pearson of Columbia M.D., Ashlee and Ben Williams of Lehi. She also has sixteen nieces and nephews. Christine was preceded in death by her parents. Our sweet little Christine will forever be missed. There will always be a void in our home and in our hearts. We love you Christine!
