Clarice Kanosh Dixon

March 8, 1946 — January 15, 2014

Cedar City/Richfield, Utah - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Clarice Georgina Kanosh Dixon, age 67, passed away on January 15, 2014 in Cedar City, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 8, 1946 in Cedar City, a daughter of Deere and Edurine Jake Kanosh. She graduated from South Cache High School, Class of 1964. She attended BYU for two years, majoring in Nursing. She also attended Sevier Valley Tech and became a Nurses Aid. Our dear, sweet Mom married our Dad, Earl Dixon, Jr., November 25, 1970 in Richfield, Utah. Mom was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Choir Teacher, Music Conductor, serving in the Relief Society and as a Young Women's Teacher. She was a member of the Laminite Generation at BYU, the Richfield Paiute Dancers, served on the Paiute Tribe Economic Development Board and was an Elder Cultural Consultant. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, basketball, softball, word search, Native American Arts and Crafts, but most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by husband, Earl, of Cedar City; children: Wileen Blow, DeeAnn Multine, Kennard Dixon, Crystal Dixon and Olajuwon Dixon, all of Cedar City; 13 grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Colleen Kanosh of Richfield; Davy Kanosh of Las Vegas, Nevada; Karen "Anna" Kanosh of St. George and Farron Kanosh of Cedar City. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren: Alexandria Bow and Baby Boy Bulletts; two sisters and four brothers: Doris Kanosh Martineau, Wilbert Kanosh, Kennard Kanosh, Milo Kanosh, Jenny Kanosh John and Don Kanosh. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in the Koosharem Band Tribal Building in Richfield. There will be a traditional Indian Sing, starting at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Tribal Building. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
