Clint A. Young

Gunnison, Utah - Our beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend, Clint Anthony Young, age 30, departed from his earthly journey on June 6, 2013 in Gunnison, Utah. Clint is now free and happy. He is now with his brother, Lance, which brings us much peace and comfort. Clint was born May 12, 1983 in Gunnison, a son of Dan Ray and Stephanie Wood Young. Clint was an active young boy and in elementary school, he won the Elks Hoop Shoot Contest, two years in a row. He also played baseball, football and loved to wrestle. He won first place in State Wrestling in the 7th Grade. He participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He wrestled in High School and achieved many honors. He was chosen as Outstanding Wrestler at many tournaments. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, Class of 2002. When Clint grew into his pre-teen years, he was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, which was a huge challenge for Clint and his family. Clint suffered greatly from this. Clint loved his family very much, because he knew that we loved him. He loved to fish and he could sit for hours "just thinking" as he fished. He loved to play video games and was the champ at our house. Christmas was a happy time for him, because he loved all his family to be together. As a family, we loved him dearly and loved to see him when he was happy. His smiling face was contagious. He had a very soft spot in our hearts. We are going to miss Clint, but what a comfort it is to know he is now free of his sadness, torments and depression. Clint is survived by his parents: Dan and Stephanie Young of Gunnison; brothers: Jared and Holly Young of Highland; Tyler Young of Orem; sister: Crystal and Denzil Frost of Portland, Oregon; his nieces and nephews: Kaylee Young, Kassidy Young, Faith Eva Young and Hunter Young, all of Highland; Brianna Frost and Denzil Frost of Portland, Oregon; grandparents: Marion and Beverly Young of Gunnison; Virgil Anderson of Salina. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lance W. Young; his dear sweet grandmother, Eva King Wood Anderson; and his grandfather, Karlie Wood. May you rest in peace, my dear son - I love you - Mom Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, 80 West Center Street in Gunnison, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
