Cody L. Mickelsen

October 18, 1976 — April 27, 2009

Redmond, Utah - Our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Cody L. Mickelsen, age 32, was tragically taken from us on Monday, April 27, 2009, as the result of an industrial accident in Sigurd, Utah. He was born October 18, 1976 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Maylen L. and Nikki Rae Winget Mickelsen. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1995. He thoroughly enjoyed working construction and driving trucks. At the time of his death, he was working for McRae Trucking in Sigurd, pulling tankers. Cody enjoyed hunting, horse riding, wild life photography, sky diving, fishing, four wheeling and riding motorcyles, but most of all, he loved the desert. He enjoyed a wide variety of animals, particularly dogs and wild horses and he had a special way with them. Cody loved his family and friends and he absolutely adored his parents, Maylen and Nikki. Cody loved kids and was great with them, especially his nieces and nephews. He lived life to the fullest and he lived it his way. He had a special tenderness about him, he was one of a kind — a free spirit and his integrity was enormous. Cody was a BIG tease and jokester. He will be greatly missed. Cody is survived by his parents, Maylen and Nikki Mickelsen of Redmond; his brothers and sisters: Trent Mickelsen, Kami and Scott Christensen, Brett Mickelsen and Tresha Mickelsen, all of Redmond; Deidre and John Jenkins of Monroe; Julie and Cory Reese of Mt. Pleasant; his girlfriend, Lisa Willardson of Redmond; his beloved dog, Weezer; nieces and nephews: Michael, Teven and Jace Christensen; Adison Mickelsen; Grayson and Layla Jenkins; and Maycie Reese. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Redmond LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may visit with the family, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
