Colleen B. Cowley

April 12, 1935 — June 9, 2015

Venice, Utah - Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Colleen Barney Cowley, age 80, of Venice, passed away June 9, 2015 in Richfield, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 12, 1935 in Annabella, Utah, a daughter of Eugene and Ada Lowe Barney. She graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1953. She married her eternal love, Gary Allen Cowley, February 8, 1957 in the Manti LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Relief Society and in many other callings. She worked as an Ordinance Worker at the Manti Temple and at the Humanitarian Center in Richfield. Colleen loved quilt making and crocheting, making pies and donating her time and talents wherever was needed. She is survived by her husband, Gary, of Venice; children: Lorelei and Kim Smith of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kendall and Kathy Cowley of Venice; Cheryl Farnsworth of Farmington; foster daughter, Jackie and Luke Dee of Montezuma Creek; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Barbara Barney of St. George. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janet Cowley Hansen; two brothers and one sister: Richard Barney; Nadene Petersen and Leslie Barney. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Venice LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. or at the ward chapel in Venice Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Venice Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
