Colleen Barney Deangelo

June 11, 1958 — March 6, 2020

Provo, Utah - Colleen Barney DeAngelo, 61, of Provo, Utah formerly of Richfield passed away peacefully March 6, 2020, in the Utah Valley Hospital surrounded by her loving family and returned home to our Heavenly Father after a valiant battle with Cancer. She was born June 11, 1958 in Richfield to Clem and Charlotte Barney. She was the fifth child of seven, sandwiched right in-between her two sisters. She graduated from Richfield High School and Sevier Valley Tech in Cosmetology. She met and married her sweetheart Nicholas Ronald DeAngelo from Provo at a church dance. They were married in the Manti Temple May 2, 1992. They have been married for 28 years and were blessed with one beautiful daughter, Tara. Colleen was a devoted wife and mother and found joy in spending time with her family. She always put others before herself and cherished the simple things in life. She loved special girl get-a-ways with her Mother, two sisters, and her daughter. She is survived by her husband Nick and their daughter Tara Korinne. Colleen was employed at Nestles Stouffers Food in Springville, Utah for over 20 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Librarian and Visiting Teacher. From a young age, Colleen enjoyed books and was an avid reader. Her greatest love was for her daughter and best friend, Tara. They loved playing games together and every year Colleen would cheer and support Tara as she participated in the Special Olympics track and field. Colleen’s determination was displayed in everything she did . Recently she had the opportunity to cruise and fell in love with it! She had a great desire to travel more. She was extremely grateful and appreciated the help she received from others, she will always be our shining example. Survived by: mother, Charlotte Barney; siblings Roger (Marsha) Barney, Terry (Pauline) Barney, Darren (Lana )Barney all Richfield, UT; Scott (Elsie) Barney, Salem, UT; Sharee (Richard) Wasden, Aurora, UT; Teresa (Roy) Hooper, Nephi, UT. Preceded in death by: father, Clem Marland Barney; and Grandparents. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 12:00 noon in the Richfield 15th LDS Ward Chapel, 10 South 200 East. Friends may call at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. or at the ward chapel Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
