Connie W. Noyes

November 30, 1937 — May 23, 2014

Escalante, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Connie Lorraine Worthen Noyes, age 76, passed away May 23, 2014 at her home in Escalante. She was born November 30, 1937 in Ferron, Utah, a daughter of Peter Clayton and Vernel Seely Worthen. She graduated from Carbon High School, Class of 1955 and Brigham Young University in 1960 with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Garth Frank Noyes, June 17, 1960 in the Manti LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Over the years she has served in many capacities, from Relief Society President to Primary Teacher, and everything in between, all of which she loved. Connie was a Teacher by profession and by heart. Even in retirement, she tutored many children, enabling them to excel in academics. She enjoyed fishing, teaching, gardening, crocheting, cooking and trying new recipes. She will be greatly missed. Connie is survived by her loving husband, Garth, of Escalante; her children: LaMiya and Steve Morrill of Hanksville; NaTani and Alan Taylor of Curtis, Nebraska; Nephi and Heidi Noyes of Escalante; Utahna and Sean Miller of Waxahachie, Texas; Helaman and Stacey Noyes of Odessa, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ellis and Olga Worthen of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam and Lewis Allen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Escalante LDS Stake Center, 80 South Center in Escalante, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Escalante City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
