Craig W. Shuholm

St. George, Utah - Craig William Shuholm, age 68, of St. George, passed peacefully away on March 11, 2016 in St. George, after a brave and valiant battle with cancer. He was born June 3, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of William Ewan and Clarie Stewart Shuholm. He served two tours of duty in the United States Marine Corp from 1965 to 1969, during the Viet Nam Conflict. While at Camp Pendleton in California, he attended MP School and was a Military Policeman. He received the National Defence Service Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal; Vietman Campaign Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation; Navy Commendations and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. Craig married Tawnee Randall, June 17, 1988 in St. George, Utah. They were later divorced. Craig was an active member of the LDS Church where he served in numerous callings. He delivered and served the sacrament to the members confined in the local hospital. He was a part of the committee that decorated, placed and removed the Christmas lights around the St. George Temple each Christmas. His favorite and most dedicated service was to the singles of the Washington County Multi-Stake, this is where so many of his friendships were developed and he was appreciated and loved by so many. Craig was an over- the-road Truck Driver for many years. He loved seeing the country. He was also a self taught Diesel Mechanic of which he became very good. He enjoyed his work to the point it was basically his hobby as well. He will be deeply missed by his numerous long time friends and many new friends that he has met as he served in the LDS Singles Organization. Craig is preceded in death by his mother, Clarie S. Shuholm and his father, William E. Shuholm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the St. George Utah East LDS Stake Center, 453 South 300 East in St. George, where friends may call for viewing one hour prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
