Elsinore, Utah- Curtis Richard Nelson, age 83,of Elsinore, died June 24, 2015 in Richfield, Utah. He was born September 19, 1931 in French Camp, California, a son of Curtis Alfred and Ruth Elizabeth Nelson Nelson. He attended schools in Long Beach, California. He joined the United States Navy in 1948 and served his country during the Korean War. He married Dorothy Ann Flint, January 20, 1950 in Long Beach. They were later divorced. He was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and raising Koi fish. Curtis is survived by his children: Robert Gene Nelson of Lompoc, CA; Alice Ann Crown of Salem; and Barbara Jean Nelson of Elsinore; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Curtis Flint Nelson; and a sister: Elizabeth Snyder. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at 9:00 A.M in the Monroe City Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Monroe American Legion Post #37 and the Utah Honor Guard, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
