Fremont, Utah - Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Cynthia Salt Deverall O'Brien, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Fremont, surrounded by her family, on June 29, 2017, after a brave and valiant 6 year battle with cancer. She was born February 5, 1949 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of William Francis and Della Jo Hickman Salt. She graduated from Skyline High School, Class of 1967. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Utah in Social Science. Cindy married John Montgomery, February 12, 1966 in Salt Lake City. They lived in West Jordan, Utah where they raised their three children. They were later divorced. She then married Richard "Dick" Melvin Deverall, July 4, 1982 in Fremont. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, January 18, 1997. They had one son, and resided in Cottonwood, Utah. Dick died November 22, 2006. She later married Timothy S. O'Brien, July 12, 2014 in Fremont. Tim was a loving companion and caregiver for Cindy. He has been right at her side, helping in any way that he could, to help make her illness more bearable. We will be ever grateful for Tim and what he did to help our dear mother. Cindy was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings, but her favorite calling was that of serving as Relief Society President. Cindy enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Master Gardeners Association. She was an avid tennis player and played at the Cottonwood Tennis Club for many years. Her favorite thing was to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved Christmas and Halloween. Cindy will be greatly missed and we look forward to the day when we will see her again. She is survived by her husband, Tim, of Fremont; children: Tiffinie and Dave Littlefield of American Fork; Sonya and Justin Case of Hurricane; John and Kim Montgomery of Firth, Idaho; Daniel Deverall of Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren sisters and brother: Lauralee Remingi and Jill Tannbaum, both of Bountiful; Emma Jo Caldwalder of St. George; Valerie Salt-Oyler and Timothy Salt, both of Fremont.
