Dale J. Lowry

February 15, 1930 — September 21, 2015

Manti, Utah - If you are reading this, I am no longer suffering. My loving wife, LaRee, is at peace and will be okay, with loving family to help and care for her until I can hold her again. I passed away September 21, 2015 at my home in Manti. My life was full and I was blessed with many loving family members and cherished friends. Great times with my horses Diamond, Dreamer, Candy Bar and Toot, and side kick dog, old Spot. Some of life's special memories included taking State in Tennis Doubles for Manti High, State in FFH judging, boxing and even becoming a cheerleader when my back went out and I had to quit basketball. I was drafted into the Korean War, spending two years in Korea and Japan. A fox hole became my new home. My work career began at age 16 at Manti City and then transferring to Manti Telephone. Little did I know that my small beginnings at the telephone company would be the start of a life time career. I retired as a Supervisor with U.S. West Communications after 34 years. LaRee and I retired leaving the Salt Lake Valley to make our home on dad's farm in our beloved Manti. I was born February 15, 1930 in Manti, Utah a son of Lester Jay and Anna Elvera Danielson Lowry. I married LaRee Dennison, July 5, 1953, in Mesquite, Nevada. Survived by my loving wife of 62 years, LaRee of Manti; sons: Brent Dale Lowry; Terry DeWayne and Beverly Lowry, all of West Jordan; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Michelle Anderson of St. George; Charlotte and Bill Kay Christiansen of Mayfield; brother-in-law: Johnny Howe of St. George; and special friends, Harvey and Connie Hansen of Gunnison. Preceded in death by parents, Lester Jay and Vera Danielson Lowry; step-mother: Jennie Howard (Mother Jennie) Lowry; sisters: Marjorie and Willis Poulson; Maxine Howe. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gunnison Hospice Caregivers for their tender care of Dale during his last days. Grave side services with military honors accorded by the Manti American Legion Post #31 and the Utah Honor Guard will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Manti City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
