Dale Pace King

April 17, 1929 — January 25, 2005

Torrey, Utah - Dale Pace King, age 75, of Torrey, passed away from a massive cerebral hemorrhage on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 in Richfield, Utah. He was born in Provo, Utah on April 17, 1929, a son of Hugh Volney and Fern Pace King. He grew up in Teasdale, Utah and graduated from Wayne High School. He received his Political Science Degree from Utah State University in Logan, and went to one year of Law School at the University of Utah, and did his graduate study at Utah State University. Dale was an ROTC graduate and was commissioned in the United States Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He married Sara Jean Cook, June 26, 1955 in Sacramento, California. Dale taught school for 3 years, then became Director of Education for the US Army, Department of Defense, for 35 years. Dale retired December of 1987 to live in Torrey, Utah. He was a member of the LDS Church. He serve was a member of the Lion’s Club where he served as President and was also the President of Utah State Alumni Wayne County Chapter. He loved to golf, play tennis and ping pong, hunt and fish and play cards. He enjoyed reading, pro football, traveling and visiting. Dale is survived by his wife of Torrey; daughter: Sandra Dale and James Jaworski of Arvada, Colorado; two grandchildren: Pace L. Jaworski and Shara J. Jaworski, both of Arvada, Colorado; brother and sister: Jack V. and Bonnie King of Bicknell; Shirley K. and Norman Hanscom of Lyman; sister-in-law: Jackie S. King of Orem. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh V. and Fern P. King, and a brother, James E. King. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 11:30 A.M. in the Teasdale LDS Ward Cultural Hall, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning after 11:00 A.M. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Teasdale Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
