Dale Shaheen

June 16, 1940 — February 15, 2004

Salt Lake City/Salina, Utah - Joseph Dale Shaheen, age 63, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2004 in Gainesville, Florida. He was surrounded by his family members at the time of his death. Dale was born June 16, 1940 in Salina, Utah, a son of Ellis Anthony and Beulah Foote Shaheen. After attending Snow College in Ephraim, Dale enlisted in the US Army. He later attended the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City, where he earned a BS degree in Elementary Education. He married Julie Holton, March 5, 1965 and they had three children. Dale lived most of his life in Utah, the past 18 years of which were spent in Salt Lake City, where he saw his wife and three children complete their higher education. He was a family man and outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and golfing with friends and family. Dale had many friends and he was never too busy to spend time with anyone who needed or wanted his attention. He never met a stranger. Dale is survived by his wife, Julie of Salt Lake City; daughters: Lisa and Brady Edwards of Salina, Utah; Kelly Shaheen and Dan Price of Salt Lake City, Utah; son Aaron and Amanda Shaheen of Gainesville, Florida; grandchildren: Joseph, Lainey, McKenzie, Madison and Jackson. He is also survived by his parents, Ellis and Beulah Shaheen of Salina and a brother, Ellis Chad and Lillian H. Shaheen of Salina. Dale is preceded in death by brothers, Glen (Tommy), Ted and Don Shaheen. A memorial service for family and friends will be held to celebrate his life at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2004 at the Wasatch Presbyterian Church, 1626 South 1700 East in Salt Lake City.
