Salina, Utah - Dallas Gene Atwood, passed away on October 30, 2024, in Salina, Utah, at the age of 72. He was born on March 27, 1952, in Clearfield, Utah, to Lawrence Nathan and Gladys Leona Kidd Atwood.
Dallas was a talented mechanic. He possessed a remarkable ability to design, engineer, and construct almost anything. Dallas was a fixture in Salina, where he ran Atwood Saw and Mower for many decades. He had a reputation in town for being able to fix just about anything.
Dallas loved hitting the road for camping and rock-hounding in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed visiting Alaska. In more recent years, Dallas enjoyed camping in the desert near Quartzite.
Dallas is survived by his spouse, Ann Atwood of Salina; his daughter, Jill Peterson, of Las Vegas, Nevada; his son, Kelly Atwood and his granddaughter, Lucy Atwood, both of Salt Lake City. Dallas also leaves behind his siblings, Betty Gustin, of Duchesne; Gloria Brown, of Twin Falls, Idaho; and Ken Atwood, of Abilene, Texas.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Gladys Kidd Atwood; his sister, Sharon Chatterton; his brothers, Floyd Atwood and Gerald Atwood; and his son, Bryan Atwood.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to doctors and home health care for the care they gave Dallas. They would also like to express their gratitude to the community for supporting Atwoods Saw and Mower for many years.
