Dan Stewart

August 21, 1946 — May 22, 2019

Teasdale, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and neighbor Allan Dan Stewart "Cougar Dan" age 72, passed away on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at the Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield, Utah. Dan was born August 21, 1946 in Cedar City, Utah, a son of Albert Deloy and Hazel Parks Stewart. He attended Wayne High School and graduated with the Class of 1964. He married Deila Bentley November 1, 1971 in Bicknell, Utah. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Manti LDS Temple May 12, 1988. Deila died may 26, 2019. Dan worked for the Forrest Service for forty years before his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was involved in Scouting and served in various callings. He was a teacher in the 4-H. He served as a volunteer firefighter. Dan was a charitable man always willing to serve his friends and neighbors. Dan loved classic country music. He enjoyed riding A.T.V's. He loved the outdoors where he liked to hunt and fish. His father was a government trapper and Dan spent a lot of time with him on the Boulder Mountain. Dan was a good natured man ready with a smile and great sense of humor. Most important to Dan was his wife and children whom he loved and treasured very much, and grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Dan is survived by his wife Deila Bentley Stewart of Teasdale; his children: Dana and Shane Christensen of Cane Beds Arizona; Allan Stewart, April and Daren Morrison, Casey and Felicia Stewart, all of Teasdale; 22 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; his sister Sharon and Steve Gurr of Loa; his sister-in-laws: Dorthy Okerlund of Lyman; Bessie Stewart of Bicknell; Dixie Christensen of Richfield;. He is joined in death by his father, Albert Stewart; his mother, Hazel Stewart Miller; a brother, Deloy Stewart; a sister, Judy Taylor; and in-laws: Steve Christensen, Addie Lou Lambertson, Glenda Tanner, Keith Christensen and Penny Adams. Joint funeral services for Deila and Dan will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in the Teasdale Cultural Hall, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Grover Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
