Redmond, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor and friend, Daniel Lee Lowman age 72 of Redmond, passed away in Provo on June 21, 2016. Daniel was born on March 22, 1944 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, a son of Henry Clyde and Genevieve Rose Millar Lowman. He married Patricia Jean Frost on June 10, 1967 in Sparks, Nevada. They later divorced. He married Carol Lynne Thomas on October 16, 1982 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Daniel was very proud of his service as a member of the U.S Air Force during the Vietnam War. He could rarely be found without his Vietnam Vet hat. While in the military he served both a year in Thailand, and a year in Vietnam. He also went back to Vietnam twice in 1997 on humanitarian missions. First with Dick Nourse and a group of veterans, and then with his wife Carol where they became international smugglers when they smuggled in U.S. money to assist a Vietnamese orphanage. The funds he raised built a new building for the orphanage, and provided a clean water well. He had a deep love for the Thai and Vietnamese people. He was all about service at home also. He wasn't the one to volunteer, but was always there to assist his wife through her many projects with the Chamber of Commerce and the LDS Church. Daniel and Carol were always a package deal, and they loved to work together. Daniel loved to fly. He was a muscle car enthusiast. Daniel was a master gardener and enjoyed working in his yard. He loved animals, and was always willing to advocate for their well being. He enjoyed music, but most of all Daniel loved his family. He is survived by his wife Carol Lowman of Redmond; his son Daniel and Tina Lowman of Riverton; his daughter Erin and Mark Orr of Eagle Mountain; his sister Peggy and Wayne Powell of Waco, Kentucky; his brother Brian and Barbara Lowman of Pocatello, Idaho; his Sister-in-Law Joyce Lowman of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 11 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brothers Bill Lowman and Gordon Snyder. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday June 25, 2016 in the North Sevier Community Center, 373 West 400 North, Salina. A second celebration in honor of his life will be at the Salina Denny's 1525 South State Street, Salina, at 4:00 P.M. the same day. Military honors will be provided by the Redmond American Legion Post #118 and the Hill Air Force Base Honor Guard. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
