Darla S. Durfey

Emery, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, Darla Lynn Simon Durfey, age 61, of Emery, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 3, 2019 in Price, Utah of meningitis. She was born July 7, 1957 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Robert Franklin and Judith Lorae Gordon Simon. She graduated from Jordan High School, Class of 1975. She married Robert Karnell Durfey August 26, 1976 in West Jordan, Utah. Darla was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Young Women's Program and as a Librarian. She worked as a Registered Nurse and was the school camp nurse. Darla enjoyed fishing, ATV riding, sewing quilts and painting. She will be greatly missed. Darla is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Judith Simon of Tooele; her husband, Robert Karnell Durfey of Emery; her children: Lawrence Walt Durfey of Yuba City, California; Jenny Lynn Shore of Emery; Cassandra Briann Brown of Orlando, Florida; 9 grandchildren: Shasha Aljandra Lopez, Andrea Marie Johannsen and Selena Nicole Johannsen, all of Yuba City, California; Kendra Rose Shore, Katie Lynn Shore, Thomas Clayton Shore and Juliet Joan Shore, all of Emery; Alexander William Brown and Aaliyah Michelle Brown, both of Orlando, Florida; brother and sister: Robert Darrell Simon and Shanna Lee Simon-Beckstead, both of Tooele. She is preceded in death by her parents-in-law; Karnell King Durfey and Eva Joan Goff Durfey; and her grandparents: Walter and Marrett Simon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 12 Noon in the Emery LDS Ward Chapel, 70 North Center Street, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be Saturday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. in the Teasdale Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
