Fayette, Utah - Our beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Darlene Ann Rasmussen Bartholomew, age 82, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2004 in Gunnison, Utah. She was born August 7, 1922 in Salina, Utah, a daughter of Clayton and Mary Westenskow Rasmussen. She married Dean Wintsch Bartholomew, August 27, 1944 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, February 20, 1945. I He died March 11, 1999. Darlene graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1940. She attended Brigham Young Academy. Darlene was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations as a teacher and in the Presidencies. She served with her husband, Dean, as a Stake Missionary and also assisted him in his calling as Stake Patriarch. Darlene enjoyed cooking, quilt making, sewing and doing handiwork. She played the violin for many weddings and funerals. She also sang in the ward choir. She made many beautiful quilts for her children and grand children. She spent many hours serving her family as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Darlene is survived by her children: DeVon Parson, Pam and Paul Braithwaite, all of Salina; Clayton Bartholomew of West Jordan; Deann and Craig Bluemel of Lyman, Wyoming; Mary Louise and Rick Dove of North Ogden; Jan and Rex Oliver of Santa Clara; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Calvin and June Rasmussen of Riverton; Neal and DeLora Rasmussen, Helen and Tom McCullough, all of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by a son, Dean Brent Batholomew; one grandson; a sister, Anita Taylor; a brother, Hal Rasmussen and a daughter-in-law, Terry Bartholomew. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Fayette LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fayette Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
