Darren G. Harkins

Salina, Utah- Darren G. Harkins, 59, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019. He was born in Twin Falls and raised in Buhl, Idaho. The son of Glenn and Dana Harkins. He leaves behind his children: Son, Darren (DJ) and Amanda Harkins; daughter, Cecilie Bartell; daughter, Adrianna and Jason Anderson; daughter, Sarah Harkins; daughter, Kymber Fischer; son, Christopher Glenn and Margie Harkins; daughter, Kasey Harkins; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren with many more to come; 2 brothers, Kevin and Lucy Harkins; and Danny and Danna Harkins. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 great-grandchildren. He spent his early years in Idaho raising trouble with his brothers and working with his mother and father. He moved to Utah where he began the start of a large loving family. Married 4 times he kept growing his family. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing which is a love that began in scouts with his family where he achieved the highest status of Eagle Scout. He spent time running a horse ranch. He also loved his job of home fire safety educating families where he earned many awards and life saver plaques. His greatest joy later in life was spending time with his family and teaching them about the outdoors and life lessons he learned. His door was always open to anyone that needed a dad, grandpa, mentor, or friend. Funeral Services will be held 12 Noon on Saturday, July 13, 2019 in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Services are held under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
