Marysvale - David Wayne Pratz, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on June 4, surrounded by his family, after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born on July 3, 1953 to R.W. Pratz and Ila Needham in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but was raised near Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School and later attended Lee College in Texas earning a degree in Applied Science and Electrical Science.
In 1973, David married Cynthia Steelman. Together they had a daughter, Tiffany Iann. They were later divorced.
David proudly served in the United States Army as a member of the First Cavalry in Vietnam. After his service, he returned to Texas until 1988 when he moved to Las Vegas. He was very successful working with outside electrical sales.
When David and his friends bought ATVs they made frequent trips to Marysvale to ride the trails. He purchased his Marysvale home in 1997 and spent every weekend there until he retired a year later and moved permanently to his beloved Marysvale.
Eighteen years ago, David met the love of his life, Mary Bay Fullmer. They were married July 13, 2009. In 2012, David was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Serving in his church callings in the Marysvale Ward became one of his greatest joys. David and Mary fulfilled their dream on March 14, 2020 when they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Temple.
He successfully owned and operated Paiute ATV Rentals in Marysvale from 1999 until 2004. In 2006, David chose a new career path becoming a realtor for Coldwell Banker Preferred Properties in Richfield.
An avid fisherman, David spent countless hours with friends on the lake fishing. He was a good friend to so many. Community members could always count on him to help out with whatever they needed.
