Dean L. Westlund

Centerfield, Utah - Dean L. Westlund, age 80, of Centerfield, passed away October 11, 2013 in Gunnison. He was born May 26, 1933 in Centerfield, a son of Carl Alfred and Elodie Christebell Sorensen Westlund. Dean graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, Class of 1941. He married M. Rosalie Schofield, August 1, 1964 in Spring City. They were divorced, March 24, 1988. Dean worked for Eimco Corporation for over 30 years as a machinist and an inspector. He had recently relocated back to his boyhood home in Centerfield from Midvale, Utah. Dean was a member of the LDS Church. He loved golfing, bowling and hunting. He was a great singer and enjoyed playing the guitar. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Marlow A. Westlund, G. Nolen and JoAnn Westlund, Lloyd K. and Uleda Westlund, and LeRoy Westlund, all of Centerfield; Ardes and George Cannon of St. George; Zella and Dick Elston of Spokane, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Alfred and Elodie Christebell Sorensen Westlund, and a brother, Roger Lear Westlund. Grave side services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Centerfield City Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Centerfield 1st LDS Ward Chapel, Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Centerfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
