Bicknell, Utah - Dee Lyle Johnson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on March 2, 2006 at his home in Bicknell, due to cancer. He was born November 20, 1939 in Hanskville, Utah, a son of Elmer A. and Ilda Duncan Johnson. He grew up in Wayne County and graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1958. He served in the Armed Forces for two years. Dee Lyle married Lila Rodriquez on October 6, 1967 in Bicknell, Utah and helped her raise her five children. He was a very skilled machinist, and always found joy in whatever work he was doing. He was an active member of the community, giving service to the Fire Department; E.M.T.’s; Jeep Posse and served as the Wayne County Sheriff for 8 years, a job he truly enjoyed. Dee Lyle is survived by his wife, Lila, of Bicknell; his brother, Ferd Johnson of Blanding; his five children: Ronnie and Patty Krause of Bicknell; Marcee and Mike Pueblo, of Phoenix, Arizona; William Krause of Escalante; Susan and Dave Behunin of Torrey; David and Desi Johnson of Bicknell; and the joy and center of his life was his 15 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ilda Johnson; a sister, Ester Barney; a brother, Wayne Johnson and “Duke” his dog. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel in Bicknell. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the ward chapel in Bicknell Tuesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
