Della D. Brian

June 11, 1920 — September 20, 2011

Loa, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Della DeLeeuw Brian, age 91, died September 20, 2011 at her home in Loa. She was born June 11, 1920 in Bicknell, Utah, a daughter of Hyrum and Anna Kristine Torgerson DeLeeuw. She graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1938 and attended Snow College in Ephraim where she received her Associate Degree. Della married Daniel Roe Brian, March 19, 1939 in Loa, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple August 24, 1955. Roe died December 14, 1990. Della was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many callings. She served a full time mission to the Alabama Birmingham Mission. Della was a life long resident of Wayne County where she enjoyed canning, decorating, sewing, reading and she was a world wide traveler, having been all over the world. Della is survived by her daughter, Sharlene Taylor of Salt Lake City; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Faun and McKay Bagley of Murray; Betty and Homer Capener of Pleasant View; Fay and Arlene DeLeeuw of Sandy; two sisters-in-law: Geniel DeLeeuw of Murray and Audrey DeLeeuw of Lyman. She was preceded in death by three children: Mike L. Brian, Marilyn Harward and Elbert Roe Brian; a grandson, Jay R. Taylor; and four brothers: Wayne R. DeLeeuw, Vern H. and Lynn DeLeeuw, Max J. DeLeeuw, and Alfred Glen DeLeeuw. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Loa LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fremont Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
