Delma Tucker

Salt Lake City, Utah - Delma Christena Sterling Tucker was born January 2, 1941 in Murray, Utah and passed away peacefully at home in the early morning of March 21, 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Delma was the oldest of 5 children born to DelMar C. Sterling and Coral Blackburn. Delma attended Granite High School where she met Neldon Tucker who she married on January 30, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple and began a family. Delma and Neldon were blessed with 6 children who were the light of her life. After 30 years of marriage Delma and Neldon divorced but remained friends. Delma was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints as she served in many capacities over the years but her favorite was working in Primary. Delma worked at the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics in Messenger Services for 27 years before retiring. Delma enjoyed cooking, making quilts for her family, spending time with her family, watching movies and old Western TV shows. Throughout her life Delma was faced with many trials and challenges but overcame them with greater faith in her Heavenly Father. Delma could always be found with a coke in one hand and a bowl of mash potatoes in another. Delma is survived by her five children; Sterling (Dian) Tucker, W. Christine Austin, Stan (Pilar) Tucker, N. Edward (Melissa) Tucker and Coleen Tucker; 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Along with 3 brothers and 1 sister; Coralynn (Don) Green, Wayne (Joann) Sterling, Ted (Sandy) Sterling and Tim Sterling. Delma was preceded in death by her mother, father and stillborn daughter Coralee. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jenkin Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 at 12:00 Noon in the Loa City Cemetery, Loa Utah. A live stream of the graveside can be found at the end of this obituary shortly before the services begin. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
