Delmer Wilson

October 31, 1941 — April 8, 2016

Las Vegas, Nevada/Salina, Utah - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Delmer Kay Wilson, 74, returned home to our Heavenly Father, April 8, 2016 in Las Vegas. Delmer was born October 31, 1941 a son of Charles Edward and Ruth Taft Wilson in Salina Utah. Delmer graduated from North Sevier High School in 1958 and started his own trucking business, which he continued until he moved to Las Vegas in 1985 and opened Rainbow Rock Inc. Delmer married Connie L. Crane November 20, 1959 in Salina. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple March 13, 1963. They have 7 children. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Delmer served in many callings in the church, but his favorite was working with the youth in the Young Men’s program. Delmer touched many lives through his service with those young men. While living in Salina, Delmer was a member of the Utah Jaycee’s serving in both local and national offices. In Las Vegas, he was a member of the West Charleston Lion’s Club serving there in many different responsibilities including president. Delmer loved spending time hunting, fishing, camping, and riding four wheelers with his friends and family. Delmer is survived by his wife, Connie Wilson of Las Vegas. Children: Cindy and (Ken) Burr of St. George; Jay Wilson and (Chris Leombruno) of Las Vegas; Chuck Wilson of Las Vegas; Matt and (Natalie) Wilson of Cedar City Utah; Mark and (LaNae) Wilson of Las Vegas; Lacy and (Travis) Mickelson of Las Vegas. Grandchildren: Barry and (Brittany), Brock, Nick, and Nate Burr; Luke, Kyler, and Kolten Wilson; Wade, Charlee, Jake, and Samantha Wilson; Baylee, Tori, Kade, and Cole Mickelson. Great-grandchildren: Brexton and Kylie Burr. And his four-legged children: Sophie-Lou, Sadie, Rascal, and Splatter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ruth Wilson; 2 infant brothers and an infant sister; brother Dean Wilson; sisters Connie Peterson and Elaine Blackburn; and daughter Nancy. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 12:00 at the LDS Chapel, 4525 N. Rainbow Blvd in Las Vegas, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Graveside service and interment will be held at the Pioneer Cemetery, April 14, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in Salina Utah under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
