Delos L. Julander

Monroe, Utah - Delos Laurell Julander, age 92, of Monroe, passed away June 30, 2015 in Richfield, Utah. He was born October 4, 1922 in Sevier, Utah, a son of Neal Melvin and Adrane Stewart Julander. Delos served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corp. After his return home, he met and married Nola Jensen, December 28, 1945 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her family and friends called Delos "their hero". They celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary this past December. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, March 16, 1963. Nola preceded Delos in death, January 13, 2015. Delos and Nola are well known for their beautiful yard and flowers, especially the hibiscus, and their big vegetable garden, produce of which they shared with family and neighbors. They were active members of the LDS faith, serving as teachers, and have been greeters at church for the past 10 years - rarely missing a meeting. Delos lived a long and happy life and will be missed by many, but we know he is rejoicing with his beloved Nola and family members that have passed on. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to friends and neighbors, Bishop LaRell Bagley and the Monroe 2nd Ward members. He is survived by his children: David L. and Karen Julander of Annabella; Diane Bower of New Jersey; grandsons: Ryan and Shanna Julander of Monroe; Ian Julander of Annabella; great-grandsons: Keagan Julander and Jay Dee Julander, both of Monroe; a brother, Larry and Ann Julander of Elsinore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; three brothers and one sister: Newel Julander, Afton Julander, Paul Julander and Beth Geslison. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Monroe American Legion Post #37 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
