Deloy Joshua Stewart

April 19, 1923 — July 12, 2004

Deloy J. Stewart “Little O” “God be with you until we meet again, for I have gone to be with my beloved Ina.” Salina, Utah - Our beloved ‘silver haired daddy’, Deloy Joshua Stewart, age 81, of Salina, passed away July 12, 2004 in Richfield, Utah. “Little O” was born April 19, 1923 in Castle Dale, Utah, a son of Milton Deloy and Rozella Anderson Stewart. “Cotton Top” spent many of his childhood years in Mt. Home, Utah, and was a graduate from Altamont High School. He married Ina Rust on May 16, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dad is a veteran of WW II where he served in the Philippines. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings. Dad enjoyed his long walks, working in the garden and it was a treat to listen to him as he played the harmonica. His biggest happiness was knowing he was the richest man in the world, for his posterity were his ‘prized jewels’. Dad is survived by his eight loving children: Terry Ann Nelson of Orem; Gene and Terry Jean (T.J.) Stewart of West Valley City; Michael and Paula Stewart of Henderson, NV; Jim and Elayne Stewart of West Valley City; Barbara and Tim Miller of Arizona; Bryan and Virginia Stewart of Aurora; George Stewart and his fiancee, Brenda Willden of Salina; Milton and Rishel Stewart of Beaver; 35 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two adoring sisters, Ramona and Earl Stevens of Oakley; Eva and Buff Berhman of Vernal, and many loving nieces and nephews. Dad is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ina; a granddaughter, Janae; his parents and his brother, Verlyn ‘Big O’ Stewart. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 west 400 North in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Friday evening from 6 to 8:30 P.M. and at the Stake Center, Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
