Deloy Shaw

Koosharem, Utah/Beaver Dam, Arizona - Virgil Deloy Shaw, age 80, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, died November 3, 2011 at his winter home in Beaver Dam. He was born August 7, 1931 in Aurora, Utah, a son of Lawrence W. and Dora LaPreal Hendrickson Shaw. He married Helen Gleave July 19, 1950 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple July 19, 1986. She died October 12, 1996. He later married Shirley Ann Johnson Torgerson, May 11, 1998 in Venice, Utah. Deloy loved farming and being a farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being with his million dollar dogs, Tippy Whiptail Shaw and Raven; his horse, Sunny and his departed dog, Dozer. Deloy also loved spending time with Shirley and his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of Koosharem; children: Terry and Glenna Shaw of Wendover, Nevada; Melissa Ann Albrecht and Nan Shaw, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; Timothy Deloy and Dixie Shaw of Richfield, Sherilyn and Ronald Greenhalgh of Annabella; step-children: Wayne Torgerson of Mission Hills, California; Carl E. Torgerson of Koosharem; Vicki and Jeff Anderson of Venice; the brother of Shirley and McKay Mickelsen of Salina; Lorraine and John Black of Idaho; and the brother-in-law of Maureen Shaw of Orem. He was preceded in death by twin daughters: Midge and Mitzi Shaw; three brothers and one sister: Donald Shaw, Leon and Eurnice Shaw, Verdon Shaw, Renee and Phil Nielson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Venice Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
