Denzil A Roberts

Elsinore, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Denzil A Roberts, age 89, died December 12, 2010 at his home in Elsinore, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 11, 1921 in Annabella, Utah, a son of Ammon and Susie Emma Adams Roberts. He served his country during World War II in the United States Marine Corps. He married Ellen Louise Hawkes March 31, 1940 in Thomas, Idaho. They had two children, Randall and Brenda. Ellen and Denzil later divorced. He later married Anna Rosemary Madden, October 19, 1959 in Tijuana, Mexico. They had one son, Dennis. Anna died May 7, 2009. Denzil was born and raised in Annabella, Utah where he enjoyed baseball, farming and music. He moved to Lincoln, Arkansas where he lived for 45 years. July 7, 2010 he moved to Elsinore, Utah to be closer to his family. He loved his family and enjoyed being with them. He is survived by his children: Randall D. and Pat Roberts of Annabella; Brenda Rasmussen of Richfield; Dennis and Deanna Roberts of Elsinore; step-daughter, Rhonda Kilgore of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter;; brothers and sisters: Elmo and Cora Roberts of Sun Valley, Nevada; Hannah Ormond of Pleasant Grove; Raymon and Verna Roberts of Venice. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law: Loy Rasmussen; three great-granddaughters; three sisters and two brothers: Marie Roberts, DeVan Roberts, Zola Duel, Edward McKay Roberts and Mary Beth Riddle. Grave side services will be held Friday, December 17, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Annabella Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Monroe American Legion Post #37 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Annabella Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
