Deon R. Hansen

Deon Reed Hansen, age 77, of Richfield, died December 11, 2016 in Cedar City, Utah. He was born September 24, 1939 in Cedar City, a son of Reed Raymond and Marvel Tolboe Hansen. Deon graduated in 1957 from North Sevier High School in Salina, Utah. He married Sheila Dee Clark March 3, 1962. They were later divorced. Deon was an excellent painter and loved working on technique to improve his skill. He was a family man who loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, walking, hiking and spending time on the ranch with his dad and brother, Redge. He enjoyed going to Arizona and spending time with Opal, singing and dancing at country jams. Deon worked as a cosmetologist. He is survived by his children: Natalie Hawthorne of Salt Lake City, Stacie and Kevin Rasmussen of Salina, Mike and Kim Hansen of Cedar City and Melissa and Chance Autrey of St. George; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister: Koelle and Bruce Martin of St. George ;brother: Redge and Barbara Hansen of Grand Junction, Colorado. He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Hansen. Memorial services will be held Monday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
