Deon S. Taylor

December 13, 1910 — December 22, 2008

Aurora, Utah - Deon Taylor, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away quietly at the age of 98 in Mayfield, Utah, on December 22, 2008, to be reunited with her beloved husband and our father Linford C. Taylor who died July 7, 1995. What a great reunion those two will have. Our Mother, Deon Shaw Taylor was born December 13, 1910 in Aurora, Utah to William Hartley and Mary Jeanette Harding Shaw. She married Linford C. Taylor June 27, 1932 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, July 20, 1957. Our Mother lived in Aurora most her life. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She is known for her fun, loving personality; her beautiful afghans, doilies, crafts and her beautiful yard that she spent many hours in. What a great heritage she has left this family. Thanks Mom for the love you always gave. We will cherish all the memories you have given us and hold them dear in our hearts. This special lady is survived by her two sons and their wives, Gene and Helen Taylor of Midvale; Jerald and Gwen Taylor of West Jordan; six beautiful grandchildren and their mates; twelve great-grand children and one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters and two brothers: Lois Jones, Salt Lake City, Roa (Wendell) Mason, Fonda (Evan) Kennedy, Carol Shaw, all of Aurora; Gail (Mary) Shaw Salina. She is preceded in death by her husband Linford; sisters: Utahna Ainsworth, Etha Hansen; brothers: Leo Shaw and Vern Shaw; sister in law: Arva Shaw; and grandson, Kenneth Lee Taylor. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 27, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Aurora 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where family and friends may call for viewing Friday, December 26, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, or Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. She will be laid to rest beside her husband the love of her life, in the Aurora Cemetery, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina,Utah. On behalf of the Taylor family we want to thank the Mayfield Community Care Center for the excellent care mother received while she was there.
