Derrell Albrecht

Loa, Utah - Derrell Albrecht, age 75, died October 21, 2010 at his home in Loa. He ws born June 30, 1935 in Fremont, Utah, a son of Dale Everett and Madge Blackburn Albrecht. Derrell graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1953. He served an honorable LDS Mission to the Southwest Indian Mission in Gallup, New Mexico. He married Patricia Alice Nelson, August 12, 1958 in Winnemucca, Nevada. He was the owner and operator of Derrell’s Chevron in Loa for many years. Derrell was a long standing member of the Wayne Wonderland Lions Club. He served as the Mayor of Loa Town and was a Wayne County Commissioner. He loved hunting and fishing (he took his damn fishing secrets with him), rock hunting, collecting old cars and listening to his old country records and shed horn hunting. He is survived by his wife of Loa; children: Dale LeRoy Albrecht of Long Beach, California; Jill Winona and Ross Stingley of Riverside, California; Derrell Bret and Tammi Albrecht of Annabella; Bart D. Albrecht of Loa; 5 grandchildren: Natasha Marie Albrecht of Denver, Colorado; Casondra J. Albrecht of Portland, Oregon; Josalyn Branda Albrecht and Derrell Jake Albrecht, JaNae Seeley, Amber Seeley and Kayla Cupp, all of Annabella; and Kendrick Cole Albrecht of Salt Lake City; sisters and brothers: Velma and Milan Torgerson of Aurora; Dale and Lois Albrecht of Annabella; Jake and Sandra Albrecht of Glenwood; Karen Larsen of Plesant Grove; Phyllis Albrecht of Montrose, Colorado and Wendy Albrecht of Glenwood. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Albrecht, mother, Madge Taylor and step-father, Kenneth Taylor; and three brothers: Virgil Albrecht, Orlo Neil Albrecht and Max L. Albrecht. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Loa LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday at the Stake Center in Loa from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Loa Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
